Treating an Abscessed Tooth

An abscess is an infection inside a tooth. This video explains how a root canal in Damascus can alleviate this condition. Oftentimes, the first sign of a tooth abscess is pain. When bacteria reach the interior of the tooth, they can damage nerve endings and blood vessels. Pressure inside the tooth can also build if the infection produces pus.

To remedy the infection and the pain it can cause, a dentist must perform a root canal. During a root canal procedure, the dentist extricates the infected soft tissues from the tooth interior. This procedure also removes lingering bacteria to prevent future infection. Once this process is complete, a dentist typically applies a crown to the treated tooth. Porcelain crowns look like natural teeth and provide an added layer of protection for them.
